About this role
**Everpure — Software Engineer (Forensics)** **Role** Drive technical resolution and stability for Everpure’s highest-stakes cloud storage deployments for top-tier hyperscale partners. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Hyperscale Product Escalations team (internally known as a **Forensics Engineer**), you’ll bridge field telemetry and core engineering—diagnosing complex distributed systems failures and building automation to anticipate issues before they impact customer workloads. **What you’ll do** - **Lead Root-Cause Investigations:** Analyze complex system behavior, memory dumps, field telemetry, and low-level code across platform, firmware, and software layers to isolate and resolve critical failures in large-scale distributed systems. - **Build System Health Automation:** Design and deploy automated diagnostics, predictive health-monitoring services, and AI-assisted workflow tools to reduce manual triage time and prevent recurring failure patterns across global fleets. - **Direct Hyperscaler Engineering Collaboration:** Partner with hyperscale customer technical teams to solve deep integration challenges, ensuring reliability and enabling major expansion opportunities. - **Engineer Fleet-Wide Reliability Improvements:** File, prioritize, and drive long-term engineering fixes from escalation findings into core product roadmaps to continuously elevate system stability. **What you bring** - **Systems & Storage Expertise:** Hands-on experience with Linux systems engineering, platforms, or low-level firmware; strong understanding of storage technologies (e.g., SSDs, NVMe, NAND, distributed storage architectures). - **Advanced Debugging & Software Engineering:** Proven ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems using **Python, Go, or C++**, plus experience building automated tools for log analysis, telemetry, and diagnostics. - **Technical Communication & Problem-Solving:** Ability to break down intricate failure modes into clear technical action plans and collaborate effectively with cross-functional SMEs and engineering leadership. - **Location & Work Environment:** Primarily **in-office**; expected to work from the **Santa Clara office** unless on PTO, travel, or other approved leave (**#LI-ONSITE**). **Compensation (base salary range)** - **$149,000 – $224,000 USD** - This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity. **Additional notes** - No application deadline; applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until the job is filled. - Everpure is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to building a strong, inclusive team. **Perks & benefits** Flexible time off, wellness resources, and company-sponsored team events (see **purebenefits.com**).
