**Assistant Vice President of Infrastructure** **Required Qualifications** *(as evidenced by an attached resume)* - Bachelor’s degree - 10 years of increasingly complex IT management and leadership - Experience with networking, infrastructure, cloud technologies and services, and project management - Experience coaching, mentoring, and managing a large team - Demonstrated experience working, collaborating, and establishing credibility and relationships with senior leadership, colleagues, and customers **Preferred Qualifications** - Advanced degree - Additional years of increasingly complex IT management and leadership - ITL experience - Budget experience - Experience developing key performance metrics (identifying trends and implementing continual improvement) **Brief Description of Duties** - Leads and manages the University’s technology infrastructure, including networks, data centers, and related systems - Acts as VP in the absence of the CIO, providing strategic leadership and guidance at the executive level - Assists the CIO by chairing or participating in meetings - Directs, plans, and implements strategic and tactical enterprise IT initiatives with a focus on cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and service quality - Serves as a point of escalation for key issues and leads strategic planning by prioritizing initiatives and coordinating evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technology projects - Serves as a member of the Division of Information Technology’s (DoIT) Senior Leadership Team **Key Responsibilities** - Determine, formulate, and administer management policies and practices for University-wide infrastructure, networking, and telephony services - Participate in development of University-wide IT strategic initiative planning and implementation with other DoIT leadership staff; evaluate policies annually and as needed - Serve on essential University-wide IT policymaking, proposing, and planning committees - Oversee executive-level projects within the portfolio and support enterprise-oriented, innovative IT leadership - Oversee departmental change; provide leadership and strategic direction to functional teams to improve processes - Create vision and oversee implementation of enterprise-wide technology service, support, and quality assurance - Communicate vision within the portfolio, monitor goals, and execute strategies to achieve organizational objectives - Provide strategic planning and development of annual goals and objectives for DoIT - Oversee development and reporting of IT performance metrics - Guide and mentor the IT Senior Leadership Team on continuous performance improvement opportunities - Oversee regular departmental meetings to evaluate and analyze strategic goals and initiatives and foster team building **Infrastructure / Networking / Services Focus** - Establish strategic direction for infrastructure, networking, and services - Provide oversight for infrastructure and networking across the University; identify best practices and maintain a project plan/roadmap to close gaps between current and best practices - Research and implement new policies and procedures aligned with University-wide IT sourcing strategies - Oversee service contracts; work with vendors to evaluate performance issues and develop/implement performance improvement plans **Emerging Technologies & Operational Oversight** - Identify emerging information technologies (e.g., Cloud and AI) for assimilation, integration, an
