**Senior IT Security & Infrastructure Engineer (Temporary)** **About Vir Biotechnology** Vir Biotechnology is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering and developing medicines for serious infectious diseases and cancer. **The Opportunity** We're seeking a Senior Infrastructure & IT Security Engineer (Temp Staff) to join our IT team in San Francisco (4 days/week on-site). This is a hands-on role combining IT infrastructure engineering and security operations, maintaining and securing endpoints, identity platforms, cloud services, servers, networking, and security tools. **What You'll Do** *Infrastructure Engineering & Operations* • Implement and maintain infrastructure across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments • Administer Windows, macOS, Windows Server, and Linux environments • Support AWS infrastructure, enterprise networking, virtualization, and remote access • Manage identity, access management, and core infrastructure services • Troubleshoot complex cross-system issues • Develop automation and scripting solutions • Maintain technical documentation and runbooks *IT Security Operations* • Monitor, investigate, and respond to security events and incidents • Support endpoint protection, identity security, and vulnerability management • Partner with stakeholders to identify and remediate security risks • Support Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and Okta platforms • Participate in incident response and compliance activities • Strengthen security posture through continuous improvement **What You Bring** • Extensive hands-on infrastructure engineering or enterprise IT experience • Strong experience with Windows, macOS, Windows Server, and Linux • Cloud experience (preferably AWS), networking, IAM, and endpoint management • Hands-on security incident response and vulnerability remediation • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or similar) • Excellent troubleshooting and communication abilities • Regulated industry experience and security certifications preferred **Compensation & Requirements** $65.00 - $90.00/hour (based on experience and qualifications) Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
