**Software Engineer, Internal Applications** **About the Role** The application software team is the central nervous system of SpaceX - creating mission critical applications used throughout the company to accelerate launch vehicle production, flight operations, and Starlink's growth as a worldwide internet service. You'll work on systems enabling rapid Starship build and reuse, next-generation manufacturing software for high-throughput factories, data platforms managing the world's largest satellite constellation, and public-facing customer systems. Aerospace experience is not required - we seek smart, motivated, collaborative engineers who love solving problems and want to impact an inspiring mission. **Key Responsibilities** • Develop highly reliable software solutions used across SpaceX • Create new applications that improve company operations • Build prototypes to prove design concepts and quantify technical constraints • Own all aspects of software engineering and product development • Deep dive into user problems to find efficient solutions • Contribute to team collaborations on architecture, design, and code reviews **Basic Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline; OR 2+ years professional software development experience • 1+ years full stack development experience **Preferred Skills** • Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java, or similar object-oriented languages • 1+ years building single page web applications • Version control, CI/CD concepts • Software system design expertise • Testing, CI, build, deployment & monitoring knowledge • Application performance profiling and optimization • Build systems (Make, Bazel, Gradle) and package management (pip, npm) • UNIX-like OS experience; Terraform, Ansible, Puppet • Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar data streaming technologies • Docker and Kubernetes production experience • Angular, React, or similar JavaScript frameworks • PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar databases **Additional Requirements** • May require extended hours/weekends dependent on launch cadence • **Onsite role required** - remote/hybrid not considered • ITAR compliance: Must be U.S. citizen, national, green card holder, refugee, or asylee **Compensation** Level 1: $125,000 - $160,000 Level 2: $145,000 - $195,000 Includes stock options, bonuses, comprehensive medical/vision/dental, 401(k), disability/life insurance, paid parental leave, 3 weeks vacation, 10+ paid holidays, and paid sick leave.
