**Forward Deployed Software Engineer** **About Air** Air is the leader in Enterprise Readiness. Our AI-native platform aligns development, production, delivery, and sustainment into one coordinated execution system for government agencies and industrial suppliers. **The Role** We're seeking self-starting, customer-value-oriented software engineers to join our Forward Deployed Engineering team. You'll build new 0-to-1 capabilities in the field with customers, end-to-end. You'll move quickly but responsibly against urgent opportunities to deliver valuable software-driven outcomes. **What You'll Do** • Spend time onsite with users, listening to problems and understanding pain points • Collaborate with product managers and designers to scope, architect, and deliver prototypes • Build and deliver working, customer-facing prototypes • Assess and prioritize gaps in solutions based on user feedback • Iterate quickly and fail often in pursuit of customer value **Scope of Responsibilities** • Conduct customer site visits to diagnose pain points • Participate in end-to-end software development of new features • Iterate quickly to unlock customer value • Craft clean, testable, and maintainable code **Required Qualifications** • U.S. Citizenship • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) • 1+ years of front-end or back-end software development (SQL, Java, Typescript/React) • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Passion for working in a challenging, fast-paced tech environment **Desired Qualifications** • Current U.S. security clearance or ability to obtain one • Startup or entrepreneurial environment experience • Experience in federally accredited software environments • Customer-facing or consulting role experience **Location & Travel** Full-time position in Arlington, VA | Pittsburgh, PA | or Remote *May require up to 50% travel* **Equal Opportunity** Air is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
