## Software Engineer – Enterprise Applications ### Company Overview ACS (Allen Control Systems) is a defense technology company building precision robotic systems for the United States and its allies. Our flagship product, **Bullfrog**, is an autonomous precision weapon system that transforms existing weapons into highly accurate counter-drone systems. ### Position Overview ACS is seeking a **Software Engineer I/II** to join the **Enterprise Applications** team. You’ll develop, enhance, and support internal and business-facing applications that enable critical operations across the organization—working with engineers, business systems professionals, and cross-functional stakeholders. ### What You’ll Do - Develop, test, and maintain applications and software components across the technology stack - Enhance existing applications by implementing new features, resolving defects, and improving usability and performance - Translate requirements into technical solutions with engineers and business stakeholders - Build and maintain integrations between enterprise applications using APIs and other integration methods - Support enterprise platforms such as **Odoo ERP**, workflow, and other internal business systems - Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established standards - Troubleshoot application issues and help identify root causes and solutions - Develop and maintain database queries, application logic, APIs, and user interfaces - Participate in code reviews, testing, sprint planning, and other SDLC activities - Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, integrations, and development processes - Apply best practices related to testing, security, performance, and maintainability - Collaborate with more experienced engineers and contribute ideas for improving applications and processes ### What You’ll Need - Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience - **0–3 years** of professional software development experience (internships/co-ops/academic projects count) - Experience with at least one language: **Python, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Node.js** - Familiarity with modern web development (e.g., **React, Angular, Vue.js, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript**) - Basic knowledge of relational databases (e.g., **PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL**) and writing SQL queries - Familiarity with **REST APIs** and application integration concepts - Experience with **Git** - Understanding of core software concepts (testing, debugging, OOP, source control) - Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn - Ability to communicate and collaborate with technical and non-technical teammates ### You’ll Stand Out If You Have - Experience building business/enterprise applications (internship/academic/professional) - Exposure to **ERP/CRM/manufacturing/workflow automation** or other enterprise systems - Experience with **Python and PostgreSQL** - Exposure to **AWS, Azure, or GCP** - Familiarity with **CI/CD** and DevOps concepts - Experience working with APIs/integrating multiple applications - Familiarity with **Docker** or containerized applications - Basic understanding of application security (authentication, authorization, data protection) - Experience in **Agile/Scrum** - Interest in how software supports business processes (manufacturing, supply chain, finance, engineering, operations) ### Leveling (I vs II) - **Software Engineer I:** foundational sk
