**DevOps Director** **Company**: Air **About the role** Air is seeking a dynamic and experienced **DevOps Director** to help shape and drive software delivery pipelines, testing frameworks, and infrastructure reliability. You’ll lead a team of DevOps and Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs) across the full software development and release lifecycle—bridging development and operations while building scalable cloud infrastructure and improving innovation and efficiency. **Location / Travel** - Full-time role - Pittsburgh, PA - Up to **25% travel** **Scope of Responsibilities** - Collaborate with software engineering and product teams to ensure highly reliable platform delivery for government customers - Lead and mentor a unified team of DevOps and SDETs from test planning through deployment - Own automation strategies, infrastructure scaling, and release schedules to ensure efficient execution - Establish **CI/CD**, security, and automated testing best practices and standards - Develop, maintain, and scale cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and testing suites with rigorous security and quality standards - Oversee quality of technical deliverables, including **IaC**, test automation scripts, and system monitoring - Translate business requirements into infrastructure and testing specifications with leadership - Drive continuous improvement (e.g., environment provisioning and test execution efficiencies) - Partner with forward-deployed engineers, software developers, and data scientists to improve security, quality, and performance **Qualifications** - **U.S. Citizenship required** **Required Skills** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience - 7+ years managing cloud infrastructure, DevOps pipelines, or QA teams - 5+ years hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, JUnit) - 5+ years people management - Strong understanding of microservices, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) - Proven experience leading teams using Agile - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail **Desired Skills** - Current U.S. security clearance, or ability to obtain one with sponsorship - Experience in a startup/entrepreneurial environment - IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) - Observability/monitoring/alerting (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) - Performance, load, and security testing methodologies - DevSecOps practices and security scanning in pipelines - Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python) **Closing** If you thrive building solutions to complex problems, are a self-starter, and are passionate about making an impact in global security, we’d love to hear from you. **Equal Opportunity Employer** Air is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
