**Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer — Developer Success** Discord has a highly engaged community of millions of daily active users who use the platform for many different reasons—but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does: **play video games**. The **Developer Success** team builds the tools for game developers to make that happen by harnessing the power of Discord in their games and in their communities. We believe gaming is better when playing with your friends, and we aim to foster better and deeper relationships through that. --- ## What You’ll Be Doing - Deliver **high-quality, high-impact** projects that unlock new capabilities for game developers (APIs, the Discord app, developer portal, real-time infrastructure, and/or C++ SDKs). - Collaborate with engineers to **write, review, and ship** elegant, scalable code—knowing it will be used by millions. - Lead projects end-to-end: **gather requirements → break down milestones → build → ship**. - Work with game developer partners to understand their needs and improve our tools (including partner meetings with Solutions Engineers and collaboration with DevRel). - Partner with **product managers, designers, and partner managers** to cut through ambiguity and find the way forward. - Maintain **performance and reliability** standards for features. - Use attention to detail to continually raise the **quality bar**. ## What You Should Have - **5+ years** professional experience as a software engineer. - Experience with parts of our tech stack—primarily **Python** and **TypeScript/React** (also acceptable: **Elixir, Rust, or C++**). Comfortable switching stacks or learning new ones. - Experience building software that leverages **large-scale, data-driven** applications. - A sense for **product and design**; you can express opinions and collaborate cross-functionally. - A holistic approach to problem solving (solve from first principles, learn from mistakes, work through obstacles with the team). - Actively leverage **AI coding tools** to accelerate productivity. ## Bonus Points - Experience working with **scale**. - Experience with **mobile development**. - Direct experience leveraging a **cloud platform** (e.g., GCP, Amazon, or Azure) as backend infrastructure. - Bonus bonus points: experience with **game development**. --- *The US base salary range for this full-time position is **$196,000 to $220,500** + equity + benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role and level; within the range, individual pay is based on job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
