**Sr. Software Engineer II - Billing & Subscriptions Engineering (Remote Eligible)** **About the Role** Join Smartsheet's Billing & Subscriptions team as a Senior Software Engineer II. You'll build scalable back-end services, solve distributed systems challenges, and lead technical initiatives that power our licensing and monetization platform serving millions of users. **What You'll Do** • Build scalable back-end services using Kotlin and Java • Solve challenging distributed systems problems with modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes) • Lead code reviews and architectural discussions with engineers and product managers • Mentor other engineers on code quality and industry best practices • Contribute to Smartsheet's most critical FY28 initiatives • Leverage AI tools to improve team efficiency and explore AI integration opportunities • Partner with product management and key business areas **What You Have** • 7+ years building highly scalable, highly available applications • 7+ years programming with Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript • 3+ years cloud technology experience (AWS, Azure, etc.) • 1+ year professional experience using AI to improve productivity • Experience developing and supporting REST APIs • CS/Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience • Strong critical thinking and communication skills • Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. **Nice to Have** MySQL/relational databases • NoSQL/DynamoDB • Snowflake/Databricks • ECS • Event processing systems • Kinesis/Kafka • Stream processing frameworks • Infrastructure as Code **Compensation & Benefits** 💰 **US Base Salary:** $175,000 – $245,000 USD ✓ Medical/vision/dental coverage • 401k match (50% up to 6%) • Monthly productivity stipend • Flexible time away + sick time • Life/disability insurance • 12 paid holidays • Up to 24 weeks parental leave • Volunteer day • Professional development (Udemy) • Company perks • Remote work options **About Smartsheet** For 20+ years, Smartsheet has empowered teams to manage work seamlessly.
