## Cybersecurity Research Engineer ### Responsibilities - Deliver innovative cybersecurity research and capabilities for government agencies, utilities, and commercial customers - Protect mission-critical systems and national cyber infrastructure through initiatives such as: - Computer network defense - Secure-by-design techniques - Cyber operations and experimentation platforms - Contribute across core competencies, including (but not limited to): - Program analysis (program understanding, vulnerability identification, remediation) - Malware analysis and reverse engineering - Resilient networking for cyber mission goals - Software-defined networking for cyber defense and deception - Artificial intelligence (reasoning, probabilistic inference, machine learning) ### Qualifications - Experience: - 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD - Education: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific/engineering discipline - Skills: - Ability and desire to quickly acquire knowledge of new subject matter areas - Expertise in one or more of: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, or similar languages - Working knowledge of Linux, macOS, Windows, and mobile operating systems/platforms/internals - Working knowledge of modern computer networking technologies - Working knowledge of modern development practices and toolsets (e.g., Git, Subversion, CI/CD toolchains) - Clearance: - U.S. citizenship - Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI ### Other Relevant Skills (Plus) - Technical lead experience on software development projects or research teams - Principal Investigator experience on DoD/IC research projects - Business development experience (technical marketing, idea generation, authoring whitepapers/proposals) - Experience in one or more of: - Program analysis - Computer networking protocol design and/or analysis - Compute and network emulation, containerization, and virtualization - Reverse engineering - Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) - Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) - Experience with tools/frameworks such as: - Binary analysis tools (e.g., GHIDRA, Hex-Rays IDA, Binary Ninja, Angr) - Debugging/sandboxing tools (e.g., Cuckoo sandbox, OllyDBG, WinDbg) - CNO toolsets (e.g., Metasploit, Cobalt Strike) - Network emulation frameworks (e.g., CORE, EMANE, MiniNet) - Container/orchestration (e.g., Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Terraform) - Cloud services (AWS, Azure, OpenStack) - Experience with DevOps and Agile development methodologies - Experience in the U.S. DoD/IC research community - CNO operational experience ### Salary Range - **$112,000 – $179,000** (typical range; final offer depends on factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, competencies, and geographic/business/contract considerations) ### EEO - Equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veterans, or other characteristics protected by law.
