Epic prides itself on creating a collaborative, welcoming, and creative environment—whether building award-winning games or crafting engine technology that enables others to make visually stunning interactive experiences. ## What you’ll do The Fortnite Technology Team is looking for an experienced **Mobile Platform Engineer** passionate about creating world-class, industry-leading game engine technologies across the full spectrum of **Android and iOS**. You’ll work with the latest Unreal software and mobile hardware to: - Design and implement **platform APIs** - Guide **cross-platform API development** - Create **robust platform support** for Fortnite as the market continues to grow - Collaborate with engineering and content creation teams to solve complex technical challenges and improve Fortnite’s stability and quality ### In this role, you will - Implement and improve low-level systems that interface with platform APIs, such as: - Memory allocators (physical and virtual) - File systems - Input systems - Graphics APIs (Metal and Vulkan) - Shader compilers - Analyze and optimize modern game engine problems, including: - Load times - Memory usage - Platform-specific performance issues - Performance across the wide range of Fortnite content - Improve platform toolchains, including: - Compiler/linker support - Deployment to device - SDK upgrades - Platform-specific data management tools - Debugger integration - Crash reporting - Embrace, support, extend, and enhance the engine for future hardware ## What we’re looking for - Strong programming background and **C++** knowledge - Experience across engineering areas in shipping games or real-time visualization systems, with emphasis on **low-level code** and **deep optimization** - Experience developing for **Android** or **iOS**-based systems - Well-versed in **software engineering principles** - Familiarity with an existing game engine and understanding of engine/editor concepts - Familiarity with development tools and profiling on modern systems (including frame capture and engine/platform tooling) - Experience developing in a large codebase at a fast pace, making trade-offs between usability, performance, and power - **Unreal Engine shipped projects** is a plus ## Epic Job + Epic Benefits = Epic Life Epic offers comprehensive benefits, including: - Medical, Dental, Vision HRA - Long Term Disability and Life Insurance - **401k with competitive match** - Mental well-being program through **Modern Health** (free therapy and coaching for employees and dependents) - Events and company-wide paid breaks throughout the year - **Unlimited PTO and sick time** - Recognition for 7 years of employment with a **paid sabbatical** ## About us Epic Games is a leading interactive entertainment company.
