Software Engineer, Code Quality
DoorDash USA · San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA
About this role
**Software Engineer, Code Quality** **About the Team** The Code Quality team sits within the Developer Platform organization and owns the systems that keep DoorDash’s codebase healthy and secure as it scales—static analysis, quality gates, test frameworks, regression infrastructure, and tooling. Their goal is to ensure the signals engineers rely on before shipping (test results, coverage, performance feedback, etc.) are fast and trustworthy. **About the Role** You’ll help build and maintain systems that validate code quality across DoorDash’s engineering org. This includes static analysis and quality gates, test frameworks, and regression infrastructure. You’ll design tooling and automation to produce trustworthy quality signals, integrate them into the development lifecycle, and enable reliable, repeatable workflows. You’ll collaborate across the org with teams that use what you build to understand accuracy, reliability, and performance. You’ll report to the Engineering Manager on the Code Quality team in Developer Platform. **Location:** San Francisco, CA; Sunnyvale, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Seattle, WA; or New York, NY. **You’ll be excited because you will…** - Build and maintain quality tooling (static analysis, quality gates, coverage reporting, test frameworks, regression infrastructure) and integrate it into developer workflows and CI/CD. - Define and derive quality signals (flakiness, pass rate, coverage, performance, scale readiness, etc.). - Build tooling that improves everyday engineering workflows (local development, CI/CD, debugging, rollouts). - Explore how AI agents/tools can automate parts of building quality checks, and measure impact using real engineering usage data. - Partner with engineering, product, and QA teams to identify bottlenecks and ship tooling that demonstrably improves them. **We’re excited about you because you…** - Have experience building software quality infrastructure, test automation, build systems/CI/CD infrastructure, or developer productivity tooling. - Have a strong debugging track record and have shipped changes that measurably improved an engineering team’s workflow. - Communicate clearly and partner effectively across functions (engineering, product, QA). - Can work through ambiguous, cross-team problems and drive them to solutions with minimal guidance. - Are proficient using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) across the full software development lifecycle (design, code generation, testing, monitoring, releasing). **Additional Notes** - Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. **Compensation & Benefits (Summary)** - **Base pay range (US, including IL and CO):** **$159,800 – $235,000 USD** (localized by work location). - Equity grants may be available. - Comprehensive benefits include 401(k) with employer matching, paid parental leave, wellness and commuter benefits, paid time off and paid sick leave, and medical/dental/vision coverage, plus additional programs. **About DoorDash** DoorDash’s mission empowers local economies.
