## Overview At Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE), we’re transforming how development teams build and deploy applications. As part of the **Kubernetes Development** team, the **Senior Developer** will work closely with development teams to onboard their applications to the internal Kubernetes Platform. This role combines technical expertise with a strong focus on **developer productivity**, helping teams modernize in a **container-first** environment. ## Responsibilities - Onboard development teams’ applications to the Kubernetes Platform in a standard, streamlined way. - Partner with Development, Kubernetes Platform Engineering, Operations, and other teams to build and continuously improve solutions that meet developer needs and drive platform adoption. - Advocate for cloud-native best practices, helping teams optimize applications for **containerization, scalability, and resiliency**. - Collaborate with Release Engineering to promote and implement **GitOps** practices, enabling streamlined CI/CD workflows, automation, and version-controlled infrastructure deployments. - Provide support and troubleshooting for containerized applications, including platform configuration, connectivity, and Kubernetes deployments. - Create and share practical documentation, best practices, and onboarding materials. - Conduct training sessions and workshops to equip developers with the knowledge and tools they need. - Gather feedback to continuously improve onboarding, tooling, and support—simplifying the overall developer experience. ## Knowledge & Experience - **5+ years** of software development experience with hands-on cloud-native expertise. - Expertise with one or more of **Kubernetes, OpenShift, VKS, Docker, and/or Podman**. - Experience with Kubernetes **observability** (metrics, monitoring, logging, alerting, tracing). - Practical knowledge of **CI/CD** processes and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions) and strong DevOps fundamentals. - Experience with **GitOps** tools such as **ArgoCD**. - Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., **Go, Python, Java, Node.js**) and experience with **shell scripting** for automation. - Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and support containerized applications in Kubernetes environments. ## Preferred Knowledge & Experience - BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience. - Familiarity with container security best practices (e.g., **image scanning**) and **Kubernetes RBAC**. - Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as **Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation**. - Familiarity with **OpenShift Operators**, **CNCF projects**, and **Helm charts** for Kubernetes application management. --- *Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
