**Specialist Solutions Architect - Data Engineering (Healthcare & Life Sciences)** **The Role** Guide customers in building big data solutions on Databricks across diverse use cases. Work in a customer-facing role supporting Solution Architects with hands-on production experience in Apache Spark and other data technologies. Help customers design and implement essential workloads while expanding their use of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. **Key Responsibilities** • Provide technical leadership for strategic customer implementations on big data projects • Architect production-level data pipelines with performance testing and optimization • Develop deep expertise in areas like data lake technology, streaming, or data ingestion • Support Solution Architects with advanced technical sales, POCs, and custom architectures • Deliver tutorials and training to improve community adoption • Contribute to the Databricks Community **Required Experience** • 5+ years in a technical role with expertise in: - Software/Data Engineering (data ingestion, streaming, performance tuning, Spark) - Data Applications Engineering (risk modeling, fraud detection, customer analytics) • Extensive experience building big data pipelines • Production experience maintaining and extending complex data systems • Deep specialty in one area: workload scaling, Hadoop-to-cloud migration, large-scale data ingestion, or cloud data lake technologies • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent • Production programming in SQL and Python/Scala/Java • 2+ years with Big Data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) • 2+ years customer-facing experience (pre-sales or post-sales) • Ability to travel up to 30% as needed **Compensation** $264,000 – $363,000 USD (all zones) Includes eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
