Born in Lisbon in 2018, we now have offices in **Lisbon and San Francisco**, and we’ve remained self-funded while reaching **100M+ downloads worldwide**. ### The Role As a **Software Architect / Solutions Architect**, you’ll define and oversee the overall system architecture for our AI-powered platform. You’ll collaborate with engineering teams, product managers, and stakeholders to design **scalable, secure, high-performing** solutions aligned with business goals. You’ll also shape our technology strategy by evaluating new tools/frameworks and ensuring best practices across software design, cloud infrastructure, and system integration. ### Responsibilities - Define and maintain overall architecture and system design for scalable, efficient solutions - Provide technical leadership and guide engineering teams on architecture, coding, and scalability best practices - Design and document high-level system diagrams, data flows, and API structures - Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and cloud services to optimize performance, security, and cost-efficiency - Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and security in architectural decisions - Oversee system integrations (microservices, APIs, third-party services) - Partner with DevOps and SRE teams to ensure smooth deployments and operational reliability - Establish coding and architecture standards for maintainability and scalability - Identify and mitigate technical risks to improve resilience and future scalability - Conduct architecture reviews and performance audits to continuously improve system efficiency ### Requirements - **6+ years** of experience in software development and architecture - Strong expertise in **system design**, **cloud computing**, and **microservices architecture** - Experience with **AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform** and cloud-native architectures - Proficiency in backend technologies (e.g., **Node.js, Python, Java, .NET**) and experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., **React, Angular, Vue**) - Knowledge of **SQL/NoSQL databases**, caching strategies, and data pipelines - Experience with **event-driven architectures**, **API design**, and containerization (**Docker, Kubernetes**) - Strong understanding of security best practices (identity management, encryption) - Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs across scalability, cost, and complexity - Familiarity with **DevOps**, **CI/CD**, and **Infrastructure as Code** (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) - Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders ### Benefits - Apple hardware ecosystem for work *(More benefits may be available—this posting was truncated.)*
