We’re self-funded and have reached over 100 million downloads worldwide. ### The Role We’re looking for a **Backend QA Engineer** to help ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our backend systems. You’ll focus on testing **APIs, databases, and backend services**, collaborating closely with engineers to maintain high-quality standards across our infrastructure. **Ideal background:** ~**2–3 years** working with backend technologies such as **Node.js** and **TypeScript**, with an interest in combining software development practices with quality assurance. ### Responsibilities - Design and execute tests for backend systems, including **APIs, databases, and service integrations** - Validate API functionality and performance using tools such as **Postman, Swagger**, or similar - Test and verify **database operations, queries, and data integrity** (e.g., **PostgreSQL**) - Collaborate with engineering teams to review **pull requests** for code quality and test coverage - Support development and maintenance of **automated tests** for backend services - Participate in reviewing backend infrastructure and identifying potential **reliability/performance** issues - Document and track defects, test cases, and results using tools such as **TestRail** (or similar) - Work with developers and product teams to improve testing strategies and overall product quality ### Requirements - ~**2–3 years** of experience in backend testing or software development in test roles - Experience with **Node.js** and **TypeScript** - Familiarity with **SQL** databases, especially **PostgreSQL**, including validating queries and data integrity - Experience testing **REST APIs** using **Postman, Swagger**, or similar tools - Understanding of backend testing practices: **API testing, database testing, integration testing** - Experience with **TestRail** (or comparable tools) is beneficial - Comfort reviewing pull requests and backend architecture changes - Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and cross-functional collaboration ### Benefits - Apple hardware ecosystem for work - Annual bonus - Medical insurance (including vision & dental) - Disability insurance (short and long-term) - 401k up to 4% contribution - Air Conference (meet the team, collaborate, and grow) - Transportation budget - Free meals at the hub - Gym membership ### Diversity & Inclusion We’re committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace.
