**Reddit — Staff Threat Analyst, Ads Fraud (Safety)** Reddit is seeking a **Staff Threat Analyst** to help protect our advertising ecosystem from bad actors. This is a **0-to-1** opportunity to shape threat response frameworks, operational playbooks, and detection pipelines from scratch. **Location / Work Model** - **Completely remote friendly within the United States** - Optional in-office access if you live near **San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, or Chicago** --- ## Responsibilities - **Strategy & System Architecture:** Build and execute a multi-quarter vision for advertiser fraud detection and enforcement; prioritize high-impact risks such as **ATO, payment/billing fraud, cloaking, deceptive ads, and network abuse**. - **Deep Analytics & Investigations:** Lead investigations into complex, multi-entity fraud networks; perform root-cause analysis and map infrastructure to prevent recurring abuse. - **Product/XFN Delivery:** Partner with **Data Science, Engineering, and Ops** to translate findings into detection logic, risk scoring, and automated enforcement pipelines. Act as the primary **Safety SME** for Ads Product/Engineering/Policy. - **Playbook & Methodology Development:** Design and standardize operational playbooks, escalation frameworks, QA standards, and feedback loops. --- ## Qualifications & Experience - **7+ years** in threat intelligence, ad tech safety, trust & safety investigations, or platform integrity (ad fraud, financial crime, ATO, or spam abuse). - Proven **0-to-1** experience building threat response frameworks in ambiguous environments. - Strong **SQL** plus **Python or R**, and experience with **big data** to query large datasets and build adversarial network graphs. - Experience using **AI/LLMs** as investigative copilots and partnering with ML teams to deploy LLM-based detection classifiers. - Deep functional expertise in **digital ad ecosystems**, ad serving infrastructure, and ad fraud archetypes. ### Preferred - Familiarity with **global ad compliance**, privacy regulations, and regulatory reporting standards. --- ## Benefits (Highlights) - Comprehensive healthcare benefits and income replacement programs - 401(k) with employer match - Global benefit programs (workspace, professional development, caregiving support) - Family planning support - Gender-affirming care - Mental health & coaching benefits - Flexible vacation and paid volunteer time off - Generous paid parental leave --- ## Pay Transparency - **Base salary range:** **$167,500 – $234,500 USD** - Role may also be eligible for **equity (RSUs)** and, depending on position, **commission**. --- *Equal Opportunity Employer.* Reddit is committed to building a workforce representative of diverse communities and providing reasonable accommodations during the interview process.
