**Mission Summary** The Systems Readiness and Performance (SRP) team bridges software development and real-world deployment. SRP drives system design, verifies and validates the autonomy stack, and defines/measures/validates system performance targets. You’ll help build the safety case for the commercial launch of fully driverless IONIQ 5 robotaxis in Las Vegas. **Role Overview** We’re seeking a pragmatic, results-oriented **Feature Engineer** to design new AV features and improve existing ones—ensuring autonomous vehicles operate with high standards of performance and safety. You’ll collaborate across product, autonomy, operations, and safety to define desired behaviors and establish clear design targets. **What You’ll Do** - **Design & Improve AV Features:** Help design new Autonomous Vehicle (AV) features and continuously improve existing ones using best practices for pragmatic design, analysis, and testing. - **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work with product, autonomy, operations, and safety teams to define vehicle behaviors and set robust design targets. - **Validation & Verification:** Partner with testing/engineering teams to build validation suites across software integration, simulation, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), and closed-course test tracks. - **Performance Measurement & Monitoring:** Define performance measures and implement automated checks for controlled testing and in-service data monitoring. - **Drive Safety Analysis:** Perform safety analysis to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant feature operation. - **Root Cause & Corrective Actions:** Investigate issues observed during testing or road-related to the features and help determine corrective actions. **What We’re Looking For** - **Bachelor’s degree** in Robotics, Autonomous Systems, Control Systems, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field **+ 1+ years** experience. - Strong **technical writing** for clear root cause analysis and design/verification goals. - Demonstrated experience with **systems engineering** and **safety analysis** processes. - A pragmatic, results-oriented mindset with a proven ability to drive complex projects to completion. - Hands-on experience with **robotics validation testing** (HIL, SIL, Integration SW Level). **Ideally, You Also Have** - Proficiency with **programmatic data analysis & visualization** (e.g., Python, SQL, MATLAB). - Prior experience working directly on **autonomous vehicles** or **ADAS**. **Salary Range** **$123,000 — $163,500 USD** (base salary estimate; additional compensation may be available). **About Motional** Motional is a driverless technology company making autonomous vehicles a safe, reliable, and accessible reality—driven by people first, higher purpose, and greater impact. *EOE.
