**Staff Security Engineer, Cloud Security** **About the Role** As a Staff Security Engineer focused on Cloud Security, you will help improve how Attentive protects its cloud infrastructure, applications, data, and engineering systems. This is a hands-on role with broad impact, working closely with Security, Infrastructure, Platform, SRE, and Engineering teams. At the Staff level, you'll identify broader risks, set technical direction, and guide teams toward practical security improvements. **What You'll Accomplish** • Own and improve Attentive's cloud security strategy and roadmap • Design and improve cloud security controls across identity, access, networking, workload security, data protection, secrets, logging, and monitoring • Work with engineering teams to build security into cloud architecture, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, containers, and Kubernetes • Improve cloud identity and access controls with least privilege and workload identity • Create reusable security patterns, standards, and automated guardrails • Identify and prioritize broader cloud risks by connecting vulnerabilities to business impact • Provide security guidance for new systems and major projects • Support cloud security incidents and improve monitoring and visibility • Evaluate cloud security tools and define useful security metrics • Guide other engineers through design reviews and technical advice **Your Expertise** • 8+ years in security, infrastructure, or related engineering roles with strong AWS and cloud-native experience • Strong understanding of cloud security (identity, access, networking, encryption, secrets, logging, monitoring) • Experience designing and operating security controls in major cloud platforms • Knowledge of cloud identity and access management, least privilege, and workload identity • Experience securing containers and Kubernetes • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and CI/CD automation • Ability to identify broader security risks and explain technical issues as realistic attack paths • Strong engineering judgment balancing security, reliability, and business needs • Experience leading technical work and influencing without direct authority • Strong written and verbal communication skills **Compensation (US-based)** $179,000 - $264,000 annually + equity + benefits **Company Culture** Attentive is recognized in Deloitte's Fast 500, Forbes' Cloud 100, LinkedIn's Top Startups, and Inc.'s Best Workplaces.
