## Lead Software Engineer, CI/CD ### Why you should join the Developer Infrastructure Team Own the CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation that help engineers ship code efficiently and safely. As the Lead, you’ll define the technical roadmap from idea to delivery—improving developer productivity, reducing deployment friction, and enabling fast movement without fear of breaking things. ### What you’ll achieve (Key responsibilities) - **Define architectural vision:** Lead the long-term strategy for CI/CD pipelines and frameworks across backend and frontend. - **CI/CD strategy:** Architect fast, reliable deployments and rollbacks; own end-to-end delivery pipelines with strong security, efficiency, and compliance. - **Set engineering standards:** Establish repository benchmarks for PRs, cycle time, velocity, code quality metrics, and systemic reliability. - **Scalable tooling & coverage:** Build next-gen CI/CD tools and help bring all teams/repos up to best-in-class standards at scale. - **AI-driven strategy:** Leverage AI within the CI/CD lifecycle and use AI to accelerate your team’s development. - **Cross-functional leadership:** Consult with feature teams; use root-cause analysis from major incidents to implement pillar-wide velocity improvements. - **Operational excellence:** Oversee the health and performance of the CI/CD pipeline and ensure stability for hundreds of engineers. ### What makes this role exciting - **High-leverage leadership:** Build the platform that defines the developer experience for the whole company. - **Innovation at the edge:** Experiment with emerging technologies (including AI/LLMs) to reduce flakiness and speed feedback loops. - **Pillar-wide influence:** Your decisions on testing standards and infrastructure directly impact every shipping team. ### Who you are - **Seasoned technical leader:** 7+ years of software engineering experience; hands-on leadership on complex, high-impact projects. - **Master of root-cause analysis:** Debug deep-stack issues and turn lessons into automated prevention. - **Full-stack architect:** Comfortable designing systems across the stack and building for scale. - **AI visionary:** Passionate about AI + software quality; excited to responsibly explore new AI tools/workflows. - **Extreme ownership:** Proactive about technical debt and relentless about engineering excellence. - **CI/CD expert:** Deep experience with modern CI/CD tools and integrating automated testing into high-frequency deployment pipelines. ### Technologies we use (not exhaustive) - **Backend:** Python, Django, Go - **Frontend:** React, TypeScript, JavaScript - **Testing frameworks:** Playwright, Cypress, Pytest, Jest - **Infrastructure & CI:** AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Buildkite - **Data:** MySQL, Redis, Kafka - **AI tools:** Integration with Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or internal AI enablement frameworks ### Notes - **Travel:** May require up to 10% travel for onboarding, team meetings, and related events (coordinated in advance). - **Base pay range (US locations):** **$176,000 — $264,000 USD** *If you’re a close (but not exact) match, Klaviyo still encourages you to apply.*
