**Senior Technical Program Manager (Security) — Backblaze** Backblaze is seeking a **Senior Technical Program Manager** to join a growing **Security** team, focused on **program delivery**, **portfolio management**, and **operating model practices**. --- ### Role Overview Own end-to-end delivery of enterprise security programs and drive cross-functional execution across engineering, product, legal, and third-party vendors. --- ### Key Responsibilities - Lead **end-to-end planning and execution** of enterprise security programs (e.g., vulnerability management, incident response readiness, IAM, data protection, cloud security) - Communicate technical security concepts and **program status** to both technical and non-technical stakeholders - Build and maintain **program plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation** across multiple concurrent initiatives - Identify, track, and mitigate **program risks and dependencies**; escalate blockers with clear options and recommendations - Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure security controls are implemented **on schedule** - Establish and report **program goals, dashboards, and status updates** for executive and board-level audiences - Manage intake, prioritization, and tracking of **security findings, vulnerabilities, and remediation** across teams - Support **incident response coordination**, including post-incident reviews and follow-up action tracking - Continuously improve security program management processes, tooling, and governance frameworks - Foster a culture of **transparency and trust**; apply lean value-driven approaches and servant leadership - Partner with other TPMs on continuous cross-functional process improvement initiatives --- ### Qualifications **Required** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience); Master’s degree a plus - **8+ years** technical program management experience, including **3+ years** managing security-focused programs - Strong understanding of security domains: **vulnerability management, threat modeling, IAM, network security, cloud security, incident response** - Familiarity with regulatory/compliance frameworks such as **SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, GDPR, HIPAA, FedRAMP** - Relevant security certifications, such as: - **CISSP**, **CISM**, **PMP/PgMP**, **CRISC**, **CCSP** - Cloud security certifications (e.g., **AWS Certified Security – Specialty**, **Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate**) **Other** - Ability to adapt **agile** management principles across development environments - Proven ability to manage multiple complex cross-functional programs in a fast-paced environment - Excellent written/verbal communication; translate technical risk into **business impact** - Strong analytical and risk-assessment skills; experience with program management and ticketing tools - Ability to build trust and influence without direct authority - High attention to detail; sound judgment under pressure; comfortable operating with ambiguity during active incidents - Atlassian and Google product suite experience is a plus --- ### Backblaze Perks - Healthcare for family (dental + vision) - Competitive compensation and **401K** - **RSU grants** for full-time employees - **ESPP** program - Flexible vacation policy - Maternity & paternity leave - **MacBook Pro** + generous workstation stipend - Childcare bonus (human children only) - Fertility treatm
