They integrate with **80+ identity and compliance vendors** to deliver a holistic view of risk, and are building **AI-powered compliance agents** for **KYB, AML, sanctions screening, and risk scoring**. ## Role Overview — Software Engineer I This is a **build it, ship it, own it** role. You’ll take features end-to-end—from design and code to deployment and iteration—across: - Case management product - Vendor integrations - Orchestration APIs - Customer-facing tools You’ll work closely with founders and a fast-moving team to turn complex compliance problems into clean, reliable systems. ## What You’ll Do ### Build & Own Features End-to-End - Design, develop, and ship production features across the platform stack (backend APIs, data pipelines, integrations, case management UI) - Own features from requirements → implementation → deployment → monitoring - Build scalable **REST APIs and microservices** orchestrating checks across **80+ vendors** - Develop **case management workflows** and business logic for **KYB/AML** - Create **data pipelines** for ingesting, transforming, and routing compliance data at scale - Integrate with third-party identity/compliance APIs and map complex vendor responses ### Drive Technical Excellence - Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code with strong documentation - Participate in code reviews and help improve engineering best practices - Debug production issues and own incident resolution end-to-end - Optimize performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency - Build monitoring, alerting, and observability into your features ### Collaborate - Work with product managers, compliance experts, and customer success teams - Contribute to technical decision-making and architecture discussions - Help shape engineering culture and development workflows as the team scales ## What We’re Looking For ### Must-Have - **0–2 years** of professional software engineering experience shipping production systems - Strong fundamentals in a modern backend language (**Python, Go, Java, Node.js,** or similar) - Experience building **RESTful APIs, microservices, or distributed systems** - Solid understanding of **relational databases** (e.g., **PostgreSQL, MySQL**) and data modeling - Familiarity with **Git, CI/CD, Docker**, and modern deployment practices - Strong debugging and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication skills ### Nice-to-Have - Experience in **FinTech/RegTech/payments** or fraud/risk detection - Knowledge of compliance workflows (**KYC/KYB, AML, sanctions screening, adverse media**) - Event-driven architecture/message queues (**Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS**) - Familiarity with **NoSQL** (MongoDB, DynamoDB) or **search** (Elasticsearch) - Experience integrating third-party APIs and managing vendor relationships - Frontend experience (**React, TypeScript**) for internal tools - Background working with **ML/AI** or data-intensive applications - **Kubernetes, Terraform,** or infrastructure-as-code experience ## Why AiPrise - Build mission-critical software that helps fight financial crime and fraud - Work with diverse, complex datasets from **200+ countries** - Join a fast-moving **YC-backed** startup with immediate customer impact - Ship quickly—code can reach production in **days, not months** - In-person role in **San Jose** with a talented, miss
