Its open platform integrates with nearly 650 software, data, and consulting partners to power end-to-end investment operations across firms of all sizes and complexity. **The Role** Join the Calculation Engines team, which operates the critical servers, caching layers, and communication protocols powering Addepar’s financial analytics and reporting product. More than 95% of Addepar traffic flows through this infrastructure. You’ll help build the next generation of development, tooling, and CI/CD systems that enable Addepar to serve clients. **Compensation (Base Salary Range)** Current range for this role: **$150,000 – $234,000 (base salary)** + bonus + equity + benefits. These ranges reflect base salary only (not bonus, equity, or benefits). **What You’ll Do** - Design and build distributed microservice components in Addepar’s calculation engine (a data-intensive application) - Scale the Java-based calculation engine to **100x larger workloads** using best-of-breed time series analytics database technologies - Participate in decisions to scale while considering data consistency, throughput, speed, operability, and cost - Profile and improve system efficiency in a highly concurrent platform **Who You Are** - **7+ years** of software engineering (or equivalent experience) - Experience with object-oriented programming languages - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to explore complex problem spaces objectively from multiple points of view, using both legacy tools and modern technologies to drive outcomes - Familiarity with some of the technologies we use: - Java, Python, SQL, SQS, relational databases, and key-value stores - Kubernetes - Linux proficiency, basic shell scripting, and solid systems-level programming knowledge (plus) **Our Values** - **Act Like an Owner** — Think and operate with intention, purpose, and care.
