**Lead Backend Engineer — Aerovy** **Job Summary** As a Lead Software Engineer at Aerovy, you’ll lead architecture and deliver core components of our cloud platform, serving real-time applications across energy, IoT, telematics, and AI. You’ll work on a modular, extensible system powering everything from EV fleets and battery platforms to electric aircraft and robotics. This is a hands-on, full-stack role where you’ll own features end-to-end—from concept to launch—working closely with a nimble, high-caliber team. **What you’ll do** - Architect solutions, mentor engineers, and drive technical excellence across cloud-native platforms - Work independently and proactively to deliver end-to-end - Translate customer requirements, market data, and product strategy into clear, actionable engineering requirements - Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver business-critical features and services - Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers - Own reliability, scalability, maintainability, and performance of critical production systems - Contribute to the long-term technical vision and roadmap aligned with product strategy and business needs **Job Requirements** - B.S./M.S. in Computer Science (or related) with **5+ years** of industry experience - Passion for solving hard problems and continuous learning (technical + non-technical) - Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems - Extensive experience with **Cloud/IaC** infrastructure and tooling (preferably **AWS**: EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, AWS Batch, DynamoDB, CloudFormation/CDK, etc.) - Excellent communication skills; able to convey complex ideas clearly to diverse stakeholders - Experience designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance services/infrastructure using AWS (or equivalent) - Lead technical design and architecture discussions across multiple systems and teams - Champion engineering best practices: **CI/CD, monitoring, testing, and code quality** - Proven track record shipping production systems for scalable, secure, high-performance platforms **Nice to Haves** - Production experience with AWS services such as EC2/ECS/Lambda/S3/DynamoDB and CloudFormation/CDK - Production experience with **Docker / containerized applications** - Experience with near real-time / real-time analytics and **time series databases** - Experience with **MQTT** **About Aerovy** Aerovy is a fast-paced startup building the digital infrastructure for the next generation of intelligent hardware.
