**Staff Software Engineer Infrastructure (Garage)** **About AeroVect** Transforming ground handling with autonomy. Customers include some of the world's largest airlines and ground handling providers. **The Role** Own the physical infrastructure powering AeroVect's autonomous vehicle operations at garage facilities. Manage garage computing setup and networking, oversee software delivery to autonomous tractors, and build on-prem data processing systems handling real-world operational data. **Key Responsibilities** • Develop, configure and maintain uploaders and networking gear at garage facilities • Manage software release delivery to autonomous tractors and on-prem devices • Build on-prem data processing applications in C++ and Python for real-time operational data • Ensure reliable ingestion of vehicle data (dashcam images, telemetry) and manage upload flows to cloud • Maintain operator-facing UI layer supporting day-to-day garage operations • Monitor server health, network performance, and data pipeline reliability • Develop automation tools in Python and Bash for operations, monitoring, and deployment • Collaborate with cloud infrastructure team on data handoff between on-prem and cloud systems **Required Qualifications** • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field • 7+ years managing on-prem infrastructure, bare metal systems, and physical networking • Proficiency in C++ (standard library, multithreading, socket/WebSocket implementation) • Strong Python and Bash skills for automation and scripting • Hands-on experience configuring servers and network hardware • Experience managing software deployment pipelines to physical devices • Familiarity with data ingestion pipelines and edge-to-cloud data flows • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, shifting environments **Preferred Qualifications** • Robotics, autonomous vehicles, or operationally deployed technology experience • Embedded systems or edge computing background with C++ data processing • Experience supporting operator-facing tools or lightweight UI components • WebSocket and socket-based communication expertise • Monitoring and alerting for on-prem systems knowledge • ROS/ROS2 familiarity or robotic software deployment pipeline experience
