**Data Operations Engineer II** **About the Role** Join a team that builds, monitors, and maintains the data ingestion systems behind the world's most accurate weather source. Reporting to the Manager of Data Operations, you'll be responsible for building, monitoring, and independently maintaining data ingestion processes and systems that move, store, and transform data across platforms. **Key Responsibilities** • Build, monitor, and maintain data ingestion processes administering Databricks, Data Marketplace, and Ad Platform • Develop and optimize complex scripts using Python, PowerShell, or similar languages • Own operational state of defined data pipelines—monitoring, incident response, and maintenance • Own SQL database maintenance for data loading and deployment • Develop and maintain unit test coverage for Data Ops codebases • Administer GoAnywhere and other managed file transfer platforms • Build end-to-end monitoring systems and automated alert mechanisms • Own incident diagnosis and resolution—investigating alerts and implementing fixes • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) • Execute proactive operational maintenance and prevent incidents • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on scripting and automation strategy • Begin sharing knowledge with peers and engage in informal coaching **Required Qualifications** • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 3+ years in data operations, scripting, and automation • Intermediate proficiency in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar • Full competency in Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, and SQL Server • Experience managing relational databases (SQL) **Preferred Qualifications** • OOP language proficiency (C++, Java, or similar) • DataDog or similar monitoring tools experience • Deployment automation (CI/CD) tools experience • Managed file transfer tool administration (e.g., GoAnywhere) • Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) • Version control systems familiarity (Git) **Skills & Competencies** • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail • Demonstrated ability to debug systems and trace issues to source • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks • Clear incident communication during active incidents **Location** State College, PA (HQ) or Remote **About AccuWeather** AccuWeather is the world's most accurate and most-used weather forecasting source.
