**Director of Autonomy** **About AeroVect** Transforming ground handling with autonomy. Series A company backed by top-tier venture capital, serving major airlines and ground service providers globally. **The Role** Lead the entire autonomy organization end-to-end, reporting to VP of Engineering. Own technical direction and delivery across Perception, Prediction, Planning, Controls, and Localization. **Key Responsibilities** • Own the complete autonomy stack technically and organizationally • Set and execute multi-year technical roadmap with architectural vision • Build and manage autonomy team; hire senior talent and scale the organization • Drive cross-functional collaboration with Systems, Safety, Platform, Hardware, Simulation, and Product • Remain hands-on: participate in design reviews, debug critical problems, maintain technical credibility **Required Experience** • 15+ years building production autonomy systems with depth across multiple modules • Shipped autonomy components in production on real vehicles at scale • Direct management of 15+ autonomy/robotics engineers including senior ICs • Proven ability to run autonomy organization operations (planning, prioritization, technical reviews) • End-to-end autonomy stack ownership • Fluency with modern deep learning for autonomy (training, evaluation, deployment, lifecycle management) • Experience with ROS/ROS 2 and on-vehicle distributed systems • Strong execution bias and ability to convert ambiguity into shipped code **Preferred Qualifications** • Strong C++ and Python fundamentals • Safety-critical systems experience (ISO 26262, ISO 13849, SOTIF) • Experience in complex ODDs (human interaction, mixed traffic, unstructured environments) • Simulation-driven verification and CI/CD pipeline expertise **Why Join** Real operational constraints in a viable commercial environment.
