**Member of Technical Staff** **About You** You are an exceptional builder seeking outsized responsibility and impact with a demonstrated history of thoughtful, pragmatic decision-making. You have designed, built, and maintained backend systems solving complex problems with simple, robust code. You love tackling novel challenges, excel at finding appropriate third-party tools, and can both quickly prototype and design for scale and edge cases. You're passionate about building and excited to be part of a like-minded team. **Responsibilities** • Build core systems deploying ML capabilities in training and production; create metrics systems for rapid iteration • Drive technology and architectural choices for core services enabling rapid user experience iteration • Design and build integration of ML inference, monitoring, LLM interactions, application layers, and tax business logic • Build database layers supporting business logic and data integration with external vendor APIs • Collaborate on effective CI/CD systems to accelerate team velocity • Engage directly with accountants to understand needs and build products they love • Operate with autonomy and judgment to deliver value within technical and market constraints **Requirements** • 5+ years backend systems experience in meaningful ownership roles, ideally with data/ML workloads • Experience with ML concepts and integrating ML inference and monitoring into business applications • Proficiency with Python, cloud providers (GCP/AWS), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, serverless), and databases/storage (Postgres, SQL, S3/GCS, Redis) • Full-time in-person, 5 days/week in downtown San Francisco (relocation support available) **Equal Opportunity** Additive values diversity and is committed to an inclusive workplace.
