**Lithic — Senior Software Engineer, Card Authorization** Lithic is the modern card issuing and processing platform empowering ambitious financial companies to build the future of payments. We’re hiring a **Senior Software Engineer** for Lithic’s **Card Authorization** team, which owns the real-time systems that make every card authorization decision **correct, reliable, and fast**. The team also owns related fraud tooling, including **Lithic’s Rules Engine** and **3D Secure integration**. You’ll own high-impact projects end-to-end, solve distributed-systems problems at scale, and help build the tools customers use to control fraud and payment risk. --- ### Job Responsibilities - Write reliable, secure, scalable code for Lithic’s real-time authorization and fraud-prevention systems with minimal tech debt - Build customer-facing features (rules improvements, velocity controls, 3DS flows, fraud tooling, transaction monitoring). Own projects from planning to launch - Improve reliability of systems in the team’s scope and participate in the team on-call rotation - Lead efforts to improve systems and processes within the team --- ### Qualifications - 4+ years building production backend systems (full stack experience is a plus) - Experience in or desire to learn **Rust**; ability to understand systems written in other languages (Python, Java) - Interest and experience leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity - Ability to navigate ambiguity, align diverse perspectives, and drive toward practical solutions - Experience or interest in payments, fintech, and fraud prevention - Comfort designing systems from scratch and owning the product development process end-to-end - Strong written communication skills; experience working in a remote, async-first team across time zones --- ### Compensation & Location - **US salary range:** **$160,000–$200,000** plus equity (range may vary by career level and will be narrowed during the interview process) - **Remote position** (must be located in the **United States, Canada (Ontario or British Columbia), Netherlands, Poland, or Czech Republic**) - **No visa sponsorship or assistance** --- ### Benefits (Full-Time US Employees) - Unlimited PTO - 12-weeks fully paid parental leave - 4-week fully paid sabbatical (earned at your 5-year anniversary) - Work from anywhere: **4 weeks each year** - 3% cashback on card purchases with your complimentary **Privacy.com** employee account - Health, vision, and dental insurance; HSA contribution match - 401(k) match - Voluntary Life Insurance and STD/LTD NYC-based employees work from the SoHo office **three days a week** (Tuesdays and Thursdays are core days; you choose a third day).
