**PathAI — Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Integrations)** PathAI’s mission is to improve patient outcomes with AI-powered pathology. We’re looking for a **backend-focused Senior Software Engineer** to join our **Integrations team**, where you’ll design, build, and maintain critical **APIs** and **data pipelines** that enable seamless clinical workflows and real-time data exchange. --- ## What you’ll do - Drive the architecture of our application platform, considering the team and future product roadmap - Collaborate with product, design, machine learning, and infrastructure teams - Uphold high engineering standards: ensure software is reviewed, tested, and integrated - Mentor teammates and share technical knowledge to foster continuous learning - Champion code quality across your contributions and the broader team - Contribute to a SaaS platform focused on reliability, data integrity, and compliance - Work with clinical, QA, and regulatory teams to meet validation expectations and support inspection readiness --- ## Tech stack (current) - **Languages/Frameworks:** Python, JavaScript, Django / DRF, FastAPI, Vue - **Platform:** EKS (Kubernetes), S3, RDS / PostgreSQL, SQS, MSK (Kafka) - **Tooling:** GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Docker, Datadog --- ## Who you are (Required) - BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or closely related technical field - **5+ years** of full life cycle development experience - Ability to take on complex tasks, learn quickly, and work proactively - Experience designing and building **Python-based** applications (FastAPI or Django) - Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and OO design - Ability to collaborate with distributed teams and work autonomously in a fast-paced, agile environment - Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable in client-facing meetings and explaining technical concepts to non-experts - Demonstrated **AWS** cloud platform experience --- ## Preferred - Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or closely related field - Healthtech experience (HL7, HL7 FHIR, or DICOM) - Experience with modern frontend JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or equivalent) - Hands-on CI/CD experience (e.g., GitLab CI) - Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) - Some knowledge of IaC frameworks - Experience deploying and monitoring VPNs - Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects --- ## Location & compensation - **Hybrid position in Boston, MA** - **Relocation benefits not available** - Expected salary range (Boston, MA): **$127,500 – $195,500** (actual pay based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors) --- _PathAI is an equal opportunity employer.
