**Sr. Backend Engineer, Ordering** **About the Role** Join the Ordering Pod as a Senior Software Engineer to own the development of our high-revenue, flagship AI ordering product. This is a pivotal role where you will define the architectural roadmap for next-generation systems and tackle challenging engineering problems that directly enable business expansion. **What You'll Do** • Lead the design, building, and deployment of highly scalable and robust APIs, making critical architectural decisions that shape our platform • Partner with Product, Account Management, and peer engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions • Contribute to the vision of the next generation Ordering product, while supporting our current iPad solution • Enforce best practices for testing and releases to maintain high standards of system reliability **What Makes You a Great Fit** • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience • 4+ years of software development experience • Strong desire to learn and master new technologies • Proven ability to lead projects through the entire development lifecycle with high autonomy • Readiness to step into a mentorship role for junior engineers • Curiosity about complex systems and understanding of intricate business domains • Strong team player who actively participates in team ceremonies and code reviews **Nice to Have** • Experience with Agile software delivery cycles • Experience leveraging modern AI-powered tools • Experience with TypeScript and cloud technologies (Azure preferred) **Why You'll Love Working at Afresh** • Comprehensive health & wellness coverage • Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and 401(k) match • Flexible work environment with home office stipend • Annual professional development budget • Monthly wellness and telecommunications stipends • Flexible paid time off *Full-time U.S. employees eligible for benefits.
