## Founding Engineer **Location:** San Francisco, CA **Type:** Full-time, on-site ### TL;DR We’re hiring a **Founding Engineer** as demand surges for agents that become real, first-class citizens of the internet. AgentMail is building an API that gives **inboxes to AI agents**—serving as the **sole identity + communication provider**. In short: **email for your AI**. ### What you’ll do - Design **APIs and abstractions** that work intuitively for both humans and AI agents - Build **high-performance, low-latency** systems with agents as the end-users - Work directly on core infrastructure that processes **hundreds of thousands of emails per day** - Think creatively about bridging cutting-edge AI capabilities with something as “primitive” as email - Own projects **end-to-end** (system design → production rollout) - Write **clear, maintainable code** and strong technical documentation - Serve as the **frontline for customer feedback** (and be a spokesperson) ### What we’re looking for - You want to solve problems **end-to-end** (you make decisions across frontend, infrastructure, backend, and UX) - You have a **high bar for quality** and obsess over details—startup speed matters, but output matters more - You’re a **clear thinker and communicator** (tradeoffs, problems, blockers—directly) - You’re **highly technical** and have shipped production software to real users (startup or tech company preferred) ### Bonus points - Cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, or developer tools - Messaging, email, auth, or protocol-heavy systems - Experience building for AI/LLM use cases ### Company highlights - **World-Class Team:** Founded by experts across Quant, SWE, and Private Equity; backgrounds include Optiver, NVIDIA, Amazon, Modern Treasury, and KKR - **Hypergrowth:** Doubled user count every 2 weeks since January (and accelerating) - **Competitive Edge:** Sole identity provider for agents—like Gmail, but for AI agents (AgentMail) ### Compensation - **$150k–$250k base** - **0.5%–1.5% equity** - Medical, dental, and vision insurance - Equinox memberships for all employees - Breakfast, lunch, and dinner (free Doordash)
