**Software Systems Architect - Clearance Required** **Overview** LMI is seeking an experienced Software Systems Architect to support the U.S. Army Training Information System (ATIS) program. This is a highly technical, collaborative individual contributor role working within an Agile Release Train (SAFe) environment. **Key Responsibilities** • Lead team-level solution design and translate requirements into implementable technical designs • Develop and maintain architectural runway, identifying technical enablers and dependencies • Lead interface and integration design across applications, services, APIs, and systems • Define and guide implementation of non-functional requirements (security, performance, reliability, scalability, etc.) • Establish team technology standards, architectural patterns, and engineering guardrails • Partner with Product Owner and Solution Architect on technical debt assessment • Create architecture diagrams, decision records, and technical documentation • Work directly with developers through design, implementation, code reviews, and mentoring • Collaborate with DevSecOps, testing, cybersecurity, and other stakeholders • Identify cross-team dependencies and drive technical coordination **Required Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) • 7+ years of professional software engineering, application development, or technical architecture experience • Demonstrated software/application architecture and system design experience • Hands-on cloud experience (AWS preferred) • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices • Strong ability to work directly with developers on technical design and problem-solving • Experience addressing non-functional requirements (security, performance, reliability, scalability, etc.) • Strong technical communication and collaborative leadership skills • Experience in Agile software delivery environments • **Active DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one** **Preferred Qualifications** • Experience with modern UI/frontend technologies (Angular, etc.) • Microservices, containers, Kubernetes, or Docker experience • AWS certification (Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer) • SAFe Agile Release Train experience • Army, DoD, or federal mission systems experience • ATIS or learning management systems experience **Salary & Location** $160,000 - $185,000 | US-Remote | Occasional travel required
