We provide visibility into cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and network performance issues—helping organizations investigate smarter, stop threats faster, and keep operations running. ### Position Summary ExtraHop is building Network Detection and Response (NDR) solutions that help organizations detect, respond to, and mitigate cyber risks in real time. As a **Software Engineer III**, you’ll work with a collaborative engineering team to build a scalable, secure, fault-resilient platform and deliver **customer-facing AI/ML features** for the RevealX platform. ### What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities) - Develop, test, and maintain software components supporting **AI/ML models, agentic processes, and data pipelines** - Monitor, evaluate, and improve algorithms used in **behavioral detectors** - Participate in agile development, code reviews, and technical discussions - Collaborate with senior engineers, data scientists, and threat researchers to integrate AI/ML features into the product architecture - Implement well-scoped features and technical improvements with limited guidance - Write clean, maintainable, efficient code aligned with engineering standards and best practices - Identify and address technical debt to improve the codebase and stack - Stay current on cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies - Assist with documentation (product features, technical specs, engineering guides) - Support a culture of curiosity, collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement ### Tech & Platform - Primary services/features: **Python, Go, TypeScript, React** - Public REST APIs, database scalability, data migrations, configuration management - Platform: **AWS + GCP**, using **Terraform** for Infrastructure-as-Code - High-throughput data pipelines ### Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering (or related) or equivalent practical experience - **4+ years** professional software development (backend/cloud/security preferred) - Strong fundamentals; solid knowledge of **Python, Go**, or equivalent - Experience building **distributed, highly available cloud systems** (preferably AWS) - Version control (e.g., **Git**) and agile development experience - Familiarity with **containers** (Kubernetes, Docker) - Strong problem-solving, ownership, and ability to deliver well-defined tasks - Excellent communication and collaboration; can work independently with limited guidance ### Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with machine learning, statistics, actuarial modeling, or related quantitative disciplines - Experience with AWS/Azure services (e.g., **EKS, RDS, S3, SQS, EC2, IAM**) - Infrastructure-as-software tooling (e.g., **HashiCorp: Packer, Vault, Terraform**) - API development, **PostgreSQL** design, and/or SQL performance optimization - Experience applying ML in cybersecurity/NDR environments - Knowledge of network detection & response tools/frameworks - Understanding of threat detection, intrusion prevention, and incident response strategies ### Compensation **$145,000 - $163,000 + bonus + benefits** ### Benefits (Highlights) - Health, Dental, Vision - Flexible PTO, Sick Time, and Federal Holidays (US only) + 3 paid volunteer days - Annual Discretionary Bonus Plan (non-commissioned roles) - FSA & Dependent Care Accounts + EAP (where applicable) - Educational Reimbursement - 401k with empl
