**Staff Systems Development Engineer (GovOps)** **About the Role** Databricks is seeking a Staff Systems Development Engineer to join the Cleared Engineering team in McLean, VA. You'll operate at the intersection of core infrastructure operations and platform reliability, serving as the technical authority for our platform across GovCloud, FedRAMP High, and air-gapped environments. **Key Responsibilities** • Architect high-side platform reliability across Compute, Networking, Storage, and OS domains • Bridge engineering boundaries between uncleared core teams and secure facilities • Drive fleet-wide supportability through custom Python, Bash, or Go diagnostic tools • Partner with Product and Core Engineering on platform defects and roadmaps • Lead critical incident response under pressure • Maintain compliance with FedRAMP High, ITAR/IL5, and federal security benchmarks **Minimum Qualifications** • Active TS/SCI security clearance • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent • 7+ years in Systems Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or related technical operations • Deep expertise in Linux/Unix internals, networking, and distributed systems • Proficiency in Python, Bash, Go, or Java • Experience managing cloud infrastructure across public/federal cloud boundaries (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, GCP) • Knowledge of IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes) • 3+ years writing clear technical communications • Ability to work on-site in McLean, VA SCIF with on-call rotation **Preferred Qualifications** • Active Counterintelligence (CI) or Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) • Experience with AWS WWPS, isolated defense networks, or FedRAMP High/ITAR environments • Experience in low-egress or air-gapped networks **Compensation** $153,400 – $210,825 USD (plus performance bonus, equity, and benefits)
