Series B backed by GV, Altimeter Capital, and Intel Capital with $69M raised. **The Role** We're hiring a **Sr. Engineering Manager to lead our Control Planes & Ecosystem Group**. You'll own strategy and execution for the customer-facing control plane experience across: • Crossplane (upstream open-source project) • Upbound Crossplane (Enterprise Distribution) • Upbound Marketplace (content discovery) • Official Providers and Extensions • Partner Integrations **Key Responsibilities** **Control Plane & Enterprise Strategy** • Define long-term vision for hosted control planes and ecosystem extensibility • Ensure Marketplace, APIs, and Extensions operate as a cohesive experience • Drive reliability, scalability, and production-grade control planes at scale **Ecosystem Leadership** • Own Upbound Marketplace strategy as the distribution layer • Grow provider ecosystem (ISVs, cloud providers, partners) • Enable extension frameworks for customers and partners **Organizational Leadership** • Lead managers and managers-of-managers across multiple teams • Scale engineering org structure for product velocity • Establish operational rigor: roadmap planning, delivery predictability, SLAs **What We're Looking For** • 10+ years engineering leadership (including leading managers of managers) • 5+ years building cloud-native, infrastructure, or platform products • Deep Kubernetes and Cloud Native ecosystem familiarity • Experience building SaaS control planes or distributed systems at scale • Proven track record growing ecosystem-driven products • Ability to operate strategically while diving deep technically **Nice to Have** • Crossplane and/or Kubernetes experience • Platform engineering or internal developer platform background • Multi-tenant control plane architecture experience • Startup experience in high-growth infrastructure companies
