Teams span Software, Data, Security, and IT, with high autonomy and deep collaboration. You’ll tackle hard technical problems, own outcomes, and push for excellence from architecture through deployment. ## What you’ll do The Bill Pay team is a high-functioning, product-led team supported by product and design, building and leading the next generation of Accounts Payable (AP) software. You’ll be an engineering leader with strong opinions on technical design and the willingness to jump on customer calls. This role is especially important because it sits between Expense Management and Banking products. This is a “founder-shaped” problem: the domain is established, but the roadmap and how you get there is unwritten—ideal if you’re an ex-founder. ## Where you’ll work This role is based in our Seattle office. It’s a hybrid environment with a minimum of **three coordinated days per week** in the office (**Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday**). You’ll also have up to **four weeks per year** of fully remote work. ## Responsibilities - Build and lead a full-stack team (**7–10 engineers**) owning a defined part of Brex’s next-generation Accounts Payable software, growing the team through hiring and onboarding. - Help define and continually sharpen the team’s mandate within the broader Payments group—what it owns, where to invest, and how to continuously win customers. - Set the team’s technical and product direction, making thoughtful tradeoffs about what to build, in what order, and why. *Note: The provided description appears truncated after “Ship a…”. If you share the remainder, I can format the rest as well.*
