You’ll implement security measures to protect computer systems and networks, with a strong foundation in **security pipeline automation** and **containerization**. You’ll apply **DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)**, operate across applications and data, and help design and implement security solutions in both **on-premises and cloud** environments. --- ## Responsibilities - Design, deploy, and manage security solutions (Scanning, IDS/IPS, NIDS/NIPS, SIEM) in a **hybrid environment** - Enable developers and data scientists to move fast while championing security early; identify friction points and implement solutions - Ensure secure application development and **supply chain protection** measures are in place - Research and recommend technical solutions to controls using **NIST 800-53 RMF** and **CNSSI 1253**; assist in developing policies, procedures, and guidelines - Lead closure of **Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M)** items tied to technology-related control items and findings - Implement security solutions within **container orchestration** platforms such as **Docker** and **Kubernetes** - Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments using CI jobs to scan for security defects (e.g., **SAST, DAST, container scanning**) - Apply **DISA STIGs** to ensure compliance with security standards and policies - Collaborate with IT professionals to integrate security across the organization’s IT infrastructure - Stay current on security threats, tools, and techniques; recommend **defense-in-depth** strategies - Provide mentorship and guidance on cybersecurity best practices and basic cyber hygiene --- ## Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with **8+ years** relevant experience, or Master’s degree with **5+ years** relevant experience - Preferred: background in **incident response** and/or **DevSecOps** - Solid understanding of **Linux/Unix Administration** - Experience with **containerization and orchestration** (especially Docker and Kubernetes) - Proficiency in one or more scripting/programming languages commonly used for automation (e.g., **Bash, Python, Go, Rust**) - Proficient in applying **DISA STIGs** in cloud and containerized environments - Demonstrated experience automating deployments and developing **Infrastructure as Code (IaC)** - Strong DevOps background and tools (e.g., **Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Terraform**) - Excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, evolving environment - Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences - Must possess and maintain relevant **DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II** certification - Certifications (one or more preferred): - **AWS DevOps Professional** - **Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist** - **GIAC Cloud Security Automation (GCSA)** - **Certified DevSecOps Professional (CDP)** --- ## Clearance - **Active TS/SCI required** --- ## Pay Range (where applicable) For the states of **California, Colorado, Hawa
