**Operations Engineer** **About the role** Join a high-impact Tier Two Operations team at the heart of our cloud platform environment. In this role, you’ll deploy cutting-edge applications, automate and optimize core processes, and serve as the trusted escalation point for the service desk. You’ll work hands-on with AWS services and bring strong Linux and Windows expertise. **What you’ll do** - Serve as the primary escalation point for the service desk, handling complex troubleshooting for applications, virtual workspaces, network/performance issues, and service requests - Administer and maintain Windows systems using PowerShell Desired State Configuration (DSC) and Group Policy Objects (GPO), and manage software bundles for virtual desktop environments - Oversee Kubernetes clusters in a private-cloud setting, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and incident response - Deploy and maintain commercial and custom software using AWS Cloud Services (EC2, EKS, S3, Workspaces, and more), including snapshot management and reliability - Collaborate with Cyber Security and Engineering teams to optimize cloud solutions and support DevOps continuous improvement - Analyze and support systems engineering functions for new development, critical enhancements, and patching in line with system engineering/configuration management processes - Automate routine operational tasks and maintain automated job schedules to improve efficiency - Use Jira to track Tier 2 issues and communicate status updates with customers **What you’ll need** - 3+ years of relevant Information Technology experience - Prior experience in a Tier II support role - 1+ year of hands-on experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker - Ability to meet DoD 8570 IAT II requirements (Security+ or higher) **Bonus points if you have** - Scripting experience with Python and Bash - Experience working in cloud environments - Experience working in Agile environments - Leadership experience in a relevant technical area - AWS Cloud Practitioner or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) - Comfortable working both remotely and on-site - Excellent communication skills and a strong “customer first” mindset **Clearance** - Must have a TS/SCI level clearance and be willing to sit for a polygraph if necessary **Pay range (where applicable)** - $100,200 – $203,400 USD
