## Software and Systems Engineer SME ### About the role At Accenture Federal Services, you’ll help the US federal government make the nation stronger and safer—driving positive, lasting change across defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health missions. The **Software & Systems Engineer SME** is a technical authority in a specific domain (e.g., embedded systems, cloud infrastructure, network integration, or mission-critical software). You’ll work across the **Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)**—from requirements gathering through deployment and maintenance—leading technical design and development to deliver complete software solutions. ### The work you’ll do - Lead design and implementation across the full solution stack: **data layer, application code, and user interface** - Design and deliver **APIs and integrations** with other software systems and databases - Architect solutions for **enterprise infrastructure (cloud)** and **security requirements** - Lead **technical integration** efforts with partner organizations ### Here’s what you’ll need - **10+ years** delivering design and development of software applications - Experience with: - Programming from **data layer → application layer → UI** - Decomposing functional requirements into **technical specifications and tasks** - Software development/maintenance tools and languages such as **Python, Java, SQL, JavaScript libraries, HTML**, etc. - Database/data management & analytics technologies such as **SQL, DynamoDB, JSON, XML, R**, etc. - **Containerization** - Developing and maintaining **unit test scripts** - Developing **APIs and web services** for system/data integration - Leading collaboration efforts - **Agile / Scrum** software development ### Security clearance - **Active TS/SCI with Poly security clearance is required** ### Compensation (where required) - Base pay range: **$165,500 – $334,200 USD** (for the listed locations) ### Equal Employment Opportunity Accenture Federal Services is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer and is committed to creating a culture of respect, belonging, and equal opportunity.
