**Senior Data & Software Engineer** **About the role** At Accenture Federal Services, you’ll help build complex data flows for a custom application as part of a small team. You’ll bring advanced Python skills, familiarity with Java, and a strong understanding of data security, privacy, governance, and compliance—along with a proven track record building production data pipelines and ETL workflows at scale. **Work you’ll do** - Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements, assess feasibility, and design solutions with minimal oversight - Use strong problem-solving and debugging skills to address data quality issues, pipeline failures, and performance bottlenecks - Contribute to large-scale data migration or platform modernization efforts - Support data engineering documentation, best practices, and design patterns **What you’ll need** - Minimum 5 years’ experience with: - Apache Spark & PySpark - Orchestration tools to deploy data pipelines (including configuring/updating Spark jobs) - Advanced Python (including Pandas & NumPy) - Building end-to-end data pipelines leveraging Python - Docker, Podman - AWS S3, Lambda, Step Functions - Apache Iceberg, Airflow, etc. - SQL (with Trino) - NoSQL, DynamoDB - Containerizing and deploying applications in cloud environments like AWS - MySQL & PostgreSQL (performance tuning, schema design, query optimization for analytical workloads) - Industry-standard code control tools (Git, IaC control, etc.) - Data catalogs, data lineage tracking, and handling varied data formats (including geospatial) - Bash scripting for automation and data processing - Integrating AI/ML services and models **Bonus points if you have** - Unity Catalog OSS, Apache Polaris - Apache Superset - Terraform or CloudFormation - OpenLineage - H3, PostGIS **Security clearance** - Active TS/SCI with Poly security clearance is required **Pay range (where applicable)** - $111,800 — $221,800 USD
