**Innovation and Automation Lead** At Accenture Federal Services, you’ll help the US federal government make the nation stronger and safer—driving positive, lasting change across defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health organizations. As the **Automation Lead**, you’ll lead a specialized team at the heart of automation and efficiency across a **data platform**. You’ll build core automation frameworks, **CI/CD pipelines**, and reusable patterns that other engineering teams will leverage. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on eliminating manual toil, enforcing quality, and accelerating delivery of mission-critical data capabilities. --- ### Responsibilities - Lead, mentor, and manage a team of automation engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence - Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable **CI/CD pipelines** for data engineering, software, and **MLOps** workflows - Own the strategy for **Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)** and build/manage a library of reusable **Terraform modules** - Architect and implement automated **testing, monitoring, and alerting** for reliable data platforms and pipelines - Champion automation best practices across engineering teams with guidance and templates to drive adoption - Collaborate with **Data Engineering, Data Products, and AI/ML** teams to deliver automation that accelerates their work - Evaluate, prototype, and recommend new automation technologies and tools - Script and automate complex, repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce human error --- ### Must Have - **5+ years** experience in **DevOps, SRE, or automation-focused software/data engineering** - **2+ years** in a technical leadership / team lead / mentorship capacity - Expert, hands-on experience with **IaC**, especially **Terraform** - Deep expertise designing and implementing **CI/CD** pipelines (e.g., **GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions**) - Strong scripting/programming skills, with expert proficiency in **Python** - Proven experience working in a cloud environment (**AWS, Azure**) - **US Citizenship (No Dual Citizenship)** --- ### Nice to Have - Automation experience for data platforms such as **Databricks** or **Snowflake** - Familiarity with **MLOps** principles/tools (e.g., **MLflow, Kubeflow**) - Experience with **Docker** and **Kubernetes** - Experience in a high-security **DoD** or **Intelligence Community** environment --- ### Security Clearance - **Active TS or TS/SCI clearance** --- ### Pay Range (where applicable) **$108,400 – $203,400 USD** (base pay range for listed locations) *Note: Compensation varies based on factors such as location, role, skill set, and experience.*
