Join a collaborative, caring community where you’re empowered to grow through hands-on experience, certifications, and industry training. --- **Position Overview** Accenture Federal Services is seeking a **Senior IT Engineer** to perform technical analysis, develop working prototypes, and recommend best-practice business changes for a **DoD client** and the **CTO**. You’ll leverage extensive **VMware virtualization** expertise and **cloud infrastructure** experience to drive innovation and technical excellence. --- **Key Areas of Expertise** - Enterprise IT architecture and management (on-prem platforms, compute/storage/networking, cloud, cybersecurity, Agile, and software-defined infrastructure/deployment) - Deep understanding of **on-prem (VMware)** and clouds including **AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle**, and/or on-prem cloud such as **VMware VCF** - **VMware vSphere** environment design, deployment, and optimization for mission-critical applications - Ability to map business requirements to technical requirements - **VDI** implementation and management using **VMware Horizon View** - Storage integration (SAN/NAS, **NetApp**) - Backup and disaster recovery strategies for enterprise environments - **Windows Server** administration and **Active Directory** management - **Hyper-V** virtualization and cross-platform virtualization strategies --- **Core Responsibilities** - Lead technical solution design and architecture for enterprise-scale virtualization and cloud systems - Manage and optimize **VMware vCenter** environments for high availability and performance - Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions across multiple platforms - Provide technical leadership for infrastructure monitoring, patch management, and system updates - Design and implement robust backup and recovery solutions for virtual environments - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions - Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues to minimize downtime and maintain performance - Mentor junior team members and provide technical direction on complex engineering tasks - Develop and maintain technical documentation for enterprise systems --- **Qualifications** - **10+ years** of IT experience in engineering delivery of data center/enterprise services/enterprise-scale applications (500+ users) in areas such as: - Virtual networking configuration and **VLAN** management - Service engineering and/or migration into cloud platforms (e.g., **Microsoft Azure, Google, AWS**) - VDI implementation and management - Thin client management - Scripting/automation (e.g., **Python, Bash, PowerShell**) - **Cisco UCS** environments and management - Backup solutions (e.g., **CommVault**) - Federal IT compliance frameworks (e.g., **NIST, FedRAMP**, and DoD requirements) - Supporting mission-critical applications with high availability requirements - **3+ years** leading a small team and delegating complex engineering tasks - **2+ years** designing/developing/deploying cloud-based systems with peer and C-suite client leadership --- **Preferred Qualifications** - Must possess or obtain within **6 months** **Security+ CE** (or equivalent) - Deep knowledge and adaptability in infrastructure engineering principles - Exper
