**Senior Software Engineer, Edge Security** **Company:** Fastly **Posting Open Date:** 09/09/2026 **Anticipated Posting Close Date:** 10/05/2026 *(may close early due to applicant volume)* --- ## About the Role The **Security Products** group builds and maintains security-related products Fastly customers rely on to secure their infrastructure. This is a **full-time backend engineering** role developing primarily in **Go** (experience with other languages like **C** or **Rust** is a plus). ## What You’ll Do - Develop backend systems for large-scale web applications in **Go** - Write clean, modular, robust code to meet requirements - Coordinate and communicate across team members and other technical/product teams - Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and team processes - Optimize code and tune performance ## What We’re Looking For - **6+ years** of enterprise software development experience - Deep knowledge of **HTTP** and related networking protocols (e.g., **Varnish**, **H2O**) - Strong interest in **network security** - Hands-on experience developing and operating backend systems for web applications - Experience working in a **collaborative, distributed** team environment - Strong **Linux**, **automation**, and **shell scripting** skills ## Nice to Have - Prior experience building security solutions - Expertise building in **Kubernetes** - Experience managing **hybrid cloud** environments (data center + public cloud) ## Work Hours - Available during **core US business hours** - Participate in an **on-call rotation** ## Work Location & Travel - **Remote (North America)** - Travel may be required based on role or manager request ## Salary & Benefits - **Estimated salary range:** **$181,220.00 – $217,464.00** - May be eligible for **equity** and **discretionary bonus** programs - Comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision, family planning, mental health support, EAP, life/disability/accident insurance, flexible vacation, paid sick leave, **401(k)** (match), and Employee Stock Purchase Program --- **Why Fastly?** - **Huge impact** with a broad customer base and open-source initiatives - **Values diversity** and inclusive teams - **Passionate culture**—people are encouraged to bring their authentic selves **Apply:** A fully completed application and resume/CV are required.
