**Software Engineering Intern – Summer 2027** **The Basics** - Gain real-world experience building B2B security-focused applications. - Work directly with the team on new features for the next release of Tanium’s platform. - Be supported by a senior engineer mentor and a peer intern buddy. - Build features delivered to Tanium customers and receive feedback on impact. - Network with fellow interns and join a community of developers. **Examples of prior intern projects** - A visualization tool for Tanium’s privileges and roles - Question prediction for Tanium’s natural language parser - A Node.js module for presenting application health **Hybrid schedule / location** - This position follows the company’s hybrid schedule, requiring in-office time at one of the following locations **a minimum of three days per week**: **Durham, NC** or **Emeryville, CA**. **Compensation (estimate)** - Hourly rate: **$55.00 (Durham)** or **$60.00 (Emeryville)** - Eligible for **401(k) matching** - Monthly allowance for **communications reimbursement** **What you’ll do** - Be assigned to either a **frontend** or **backend** team based on ranked preference and available projects. - Experience engineering in a software security company—work on real frameworks and product features. - Meet regularly with your 1:1 mentor. - Produce a unique deliverable to put on your resume. - Present what you built to the entire team at the end of your internship. - Participate in intern events and network with a wider cohort of **70+ interns**. **We are looking for someone who is** - Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future - Available full-time **June 8, 2026 to August 14, 2026** - Currently enrolled in a **Bachelor’s degree** in computer science or a related field - **GPA of 3.5 or above (required)** - Graduating **Spring 2027** or **Fall 2026**
