**Senior Software Engineer - Commercial Services** **Position Summary** Natera is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of commercial services—a critical backend microservice powering business operations. You'll drive technical excellence in order processing systems, mentor engineers, and help positively impact patient outcomes. **Primary Responsibilities** • Lead design and technical implementation decisions ensuring robust order processing capabilities • Mentor engineers, perform code reviews, and drive adoption of engineering best practices • Collaborate with Product Managers from ideation through release, operation, and maintenance • Design, build, and maintain highly available backend systems supporting business applications and integrations • Drive quality initiatives and support QA activities **Required Qualifications** • 7+ years software development experience with Java and Spring Boot • Strong event-driven architecture and Apache Kafka experience • Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical best practices • Expertise in Test-Driven Development and/or Domain-Driven Development • Microservice and service-oriented architecture experience • AWS ecosystem proficiency (EC2, ECS, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, S3) • GraphQL API design and implementation in Java • Strong relational database skills • Demonstrated leadership and analytical skills • Excellent communication and presentation abilities **Technical Skills** Advanced Java/Spring Boot • SQL/NoSQL (MySQL, ElasticSearch, DynamoDB) • AWS Services • Terraform/CloudFormation • Docker • GraphQL • Apache Kafka • CI/CD (GitLab) • JUnit/Mockito • Spring ecosystem • Distributed systems monitoring **Compensation** $125,600 – $157,000 USD (Remote USA) **About Natera** Global leader in cell-free DNA testing for oncology, women's health, and organ health.
