About this role

## RF Engineering SME ### Responsibilities - Provide initial security risk analysis using both quantitative and qualitative approaches; develop analytic judgments (e.g., relevance, vulnerabilities) and prepare briefings/reports documenting methodology and results. - Develop and execute advanced security strategies and solutions to protect systems and data against evolving threats. - Recommend system enhancements to address security deficiencies. - Conduct technical and all-source analysis to identify and counter foreign intelligence threats, with a focus on telecommunications and network/computer/data security. - Research, analyze, and exploit data from multiple sources to support counterintelligence operations; develop intelligence requirements. - Perform technical analysis of communications systems and infrastructure to ensure security criteria and mission constraints are met; provide analysis, mitigations, and countermeasure requirements. - Evaluate reliability of materials, properties, and techniques used in production; plan, design, and develop electronic parts/components, integrated circuitry, mechanical systems, equipment/packaging, optical systems, and/or DSP systems. - Coordinate with research engineers/scientists and customer representatives to resolve system issues. - Evaluate technical systems for electromagnetic and on-network signatures; produce formal reports on findings. - Engage effectively with sponsor personnel at all levels and collaborate across offices/organizational levels. - Communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively (verbal and written) to technical and non-technical audiences. - Provide specialized expertise related to threats and vulnerabilities, policy/regulations, intelligence, and optimizing organizational processes. ### Technical focus areas (examples) - Radiofrequency spectrum and signatures; RF communications technologies and protocols. - Knowledge of fiber optics and thermal scopes. - Technical surveillance equipment and techniques; acoustic signal leakage, processing, or countermeasures. - In-building power system anomaly analysis. - Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), including heat signature detection, RF exfiltration paths, alternate light sources, and non-linear junction detection (NLJD). - TEMPEST countermeasures and/or collection/processing of unintended electromagnetic emanations; electromagnetic signal leakage and countermeasures. ### Qualifications - Must possess and be able to maintain a **TS/SCI clearance with Poly**. - **10+ years** of experience with a **bachelor’s degree** in a technical field (additional **4 years** may be considered in lieu of degree). - **10+ years** of experience in engineering and/or specialty field in a secure environment. - Experience with computer software/hardware, peripherals, and telecommunication networks; familiarity with network security/monitoring applications and configurations. - Expertise with RF communications technologies and protocols, including knowledge of potential vulnerabilities that could create a CI concern. - Knowledge of regulatory standards and spectrum management. - Experience evaluating and prioritizing analytical requests. - Demonstrated effective communication with team members, managers, sponsors, and business partners. - Experience with Ops documentation/plans and messaging, and technical intelligence reports. ### Peraton Overview Peraton is a next-generation national security company delivering mission capab
