**Senior Engineering Manager, Customer Runtimes** **About Pantheon** Pantheon powers 300,000+ websites globally for organizations including Google, Princeton, Salesloft, Clorox, and the UN. Our WebOps platform helps thousands of developers and marketers build, iterate, and scale WordPress, Drupal, and Next.js sites. **The Role** Lead a talented engineering team building scaled infrastructure services for high-impact customer sites. Drive transformation of core customer infrastructure, leverage open source technologies, and reduce operational toil. **What You'll Do** • Lead and mentor engineers through organizational changes while maintaining productivity • Manage multiple critical projects with shifting priorities • Align team priorities with organizational objectives and advocate for improvements • Lead architecture discussions and maintain technical excellence standards • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (10-20 individuals) • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly • Provide clear direction and autonomy within team scope **What You'll Bring** • 12+ years software development experience (Staff/Principal engineer level) • 3+ years direct people management (large global teams, mentoring Staff engineers) • Track record driving performance management and high-performance culture • Experience with cloud/infrastructure modernization at scale • Fluency with AI coding assistants • Deep knowledge: distributed systems, Kubernetes/K8S, cloud platforms (GCP, AWS), databases (MySQL, MariaDB), caching (Redis, Memcached) • Production Linux fleet experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) • Proficiency in Python, Golang, or modern programming languages **What We Offer** • Competitive compensation & equity • Flexible PTO + 13 paid holidays • Comprehensive health, dental, vision insurance • Paid parental leave & family planning benefits • Office workspace (San Francisco & Chicago) • Monthly wellness & professional development allowance • Team and company-wide events **Salary Range:** $195,840 - $244,800 USD/year *Remote-forward team.
