With $2B+ in funding from investors like Uber, NVIDIA, and Google, Nuro is deploying real-world autonomous solutions across robotaxis, logistics, and personal vehicles. **About the Work** • Drive system-level safety architecture and requirements for Autonomy Hardware/Firmware, ensuring ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 compliance • Decompose vehicle-level Safety Goals into Functional Safety Concept (FSC) and Technical Safety Concept (TSC) • Develop system-level SOTIF specifications for Autonomy Hardware and Firmware • Lead safety analyses: HARA, FMEA, FTA, and Dependent Failure Analysis • Collaborate with controls, embedded SW, HW teams, and external partners on requirements and test plans • Support verification/validation through SIL/HIL testing and on-road vehicle testing • Analyze test data from simulation and vehicle testing to validate safety mechanisms • Maintain Safety Case sections using GSN with focus on residual risk assessment **About You** • Hands-on experience in systems engineering and automotive functional safety (ISO 26262) • 3+ years in system architecture for safety-critical systems • 3+ years with fault management or diagnostics systems for automotive applications • Ability to read C code and write Python/MATLAB • Strong verbal and written communication skills **Bonus Points** • AV or ADAS background • Familiarity with STPA, ISO-21448 • Safety Case development experience (UL4600) • HIL testing or on-road testing experience **Compensation** Base pay range: $132,300 - $291,150 (based on level, experience, qualifications, location, and skills).
