This is a **hands-on leadership** role where you will: - Manage a team of **5–7 engineers** - Stay deeply involved in technical decisions and execution - Report to the **VP of Engineering** and partner with a tight-knit team to deliver high-quality, scalable systems ### Responsibilities - Lead, manage, and develop a team of **5–7 engineers** (hiring, mentoring, performance management) - Own end-to-end delivery of product initiatives—ship quickly and iterate based on feedback - Unblock the team, simplify problems, and maintain strong execution momentum - Stay hands-on in the codebase and contribute across the stack where it matters most - Drive pragmatic architectural decisions balancing speed and long-term scalability ### Qualifications - **5–8+ years** of software engineering experience - **1–3+ years** of formal people management experience leading engineers - Strong technical depth with willingness to be hands-on - Experience in a startup/high-growth environment with evolving priorities - Proven track record shipping products quickly and making sound speed/quality trade-offs - Strong communication and collaboration skills with a **high-ownership, low-ego** mindset ### What We Offer - Competitive salary + meaningful equity - Health, dental, and vision insurance - 401(k) match and flexible PTO - A seat at the table in a rapidly scaling fintech startup - Unlimited opportunities for professional growth and leadership ### In-Office Mandate This role requires you to work **Monday–Thursday** in our **Union Square** office.
